“WELCOME TO COVENANT LIFE CHURCH! The gospel invites anyone to come to Jesus. So regardless of your background or interests or lifestyle, you are welcome at Covenant Life. But everyone who comes to God is meant to experience change through the gospel. Our vision is driven by the desire to see the gospel transform lives and ultimately impact the world for God’s glory. We want to help college students catch a vision for God’s Kingdom and live their futures for God. We want to see young adults use their talents and resources to further God’s purposes. We want to see young families pattern their lives around God’s design for the family and display the gospel through their lives. Covenant Life Church is about coming to God as we are, but growing to love God so that we can serve Him wholeheartedly.”
Who We Are
The Bible talks about a God who is deeply in love with humanity and invites us to experience true happiness as we enter into a love relationship with God. At Covenant Life Church, we believe that Christianity is simply about loving this God who first loved us. We recognize the need for a healthy Christian community to make this love relationship possible. So we want to be a church that humbly serves the people in the Twin Cities towards this end.
We are a new church near the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. We are located on a university campus, but we are not a campus church. We are equipped to serve college students and also single and married young adults as well. Whether you are familiar with the Christian faith or new to it, we welcome you to join us and get to know this loving God.
What We Believe
We hold to the reformed theological position.
BIBLE We believe the Scriptures, Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
GOD We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
JESUS We believe Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, arose bodily from the dead, and ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of God the Father; He is our High Priest and Advocate.
HOLY SPIRIT We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, convict men, regenerate the sinner who will believe, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.
MAN We believe man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore totally lost, unable to save himself, and only through the regeneration by the Holy Spirit can he obtain salvation and eternal life.
FAITH We believe only those whom God calls in His grace, through no choice of their own, will express faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
SALVATION We believe the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only those who receive Jesus Christ through faith and repentance become children of God.
BAPTISM AND COMMUNION We believe water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the church during this present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.
CHURCH We believe the true Church is composed of all regenerated believers who are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head.
CHRIST’S RETURN We believe in the personal and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and this hope has a vital bearing on the present personal life and service of the believer.
RESURRECTION We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; of the non-believer to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
